Here She Is
A gathering and celebration of the stories of women from North West Tasmania.
On International Women’s Day 2019 we pay tribute to the women of the North West of Tasmania with a multidimensional artwork created by and about several generations of inspiring North West women, from our youngest girls to our senior states-women.
Curated by local artists Jessie Pangas and Anne Morrison, Here She Is will invite the public to share their memorabilia, photographs, stories and experiences throughout early 2019. With invited fellow artists, they will collage, stitch and weave together a visual map of the dynamic matrix of connections between women across our region and across the world.
Here She Is will be unveiled to the public as part of the Ten Days on the Island Festival on 8 March for one weekend only. Workshops, discussions and story-sharing will continue to build on the artwork through the weekend.
